Re: Favourite colours for cars
The C1 is a popular little package, in nice bright clothes. Sort of thing that should have been ripe for electrification, but wasn't/ isn't at least by Citroen. Others did have a go at it with the Citroen C1 ev'ie

Re: Favourite colours for cars
Normally I would post this on the Classic for under 10k thread but as I am sure it will be well and truly outside that one's parameters I thought it might fit nicely here. Most of the cars posted here are bright cheery colours or something way off the norm but sometimes a traditional colour that suits the car is worth a second glance so here it is:
It is for sale and here are the details for anyone with deep pockets!!

A car that I wouldn't bother posting on the classic thread but the colour warrants an airing here:

Re: Favourite colours for cars
The Jag/Daimler 2.5L V8 ! I'd quite for gotten about that one.
A colleague of mine had an Old English White one back in the '70s, bought for not a lot.
It must have been a smooth, smooth engine, with such tiny capacity per cylinder.
Interesting to compare the idea of that with Citroen's 2.5TD THY 'four', for which balancing shafts were engineered in.
I do like the Willow Green on the E-type; not keen for the Jag, with its slab sides.

My only shutter press of today
Why because it was shining in the sun, and was an unusual colour.
I'm sure folk can easily name the original automakers represented by the four rings...Audi, DKW, Horsch and

Re: Favourite colours for cars
Wanderer was the answer on my card.
irrelevant link...
Was also part of the answer that I took some time to get at the weekend. I had watched match of the day Saturday..7 games 14 teams, and was trying to get what the other 3 games left to be played were. I had 5 of the 6 teams for the sunday/monday games on my list but took absolutely ages to get the remaining one without looking it up.....Wolverhampton Wanderers as it turned out.

Re: Favourite colours for cars
I went to help a friend find her new car today and I'm pleased to say I now have a Citroen back in the maintenance fleet!! I think it is a particularly well suited colour to the model:

If I had to guess that could be Gris Fer metallic (iron Grey).mickthemaverick wrote: ↑24 Nov 2021, 17:54 I think it is a particularly well suited colour to the model:

Time to sneak in a beige to be allocated according to personal taste. I think when presented in a Wolseley 1300 mk II, in fine condition, with an understated demure interior in fine condition, for me it morphs over into the interesting side of the interesting/awful continuum.

Re: Favourite colours for cars
I actually think those Wolseley colours would be much better the other way round. The light beige interior would give a feeling of a light and airey space while the darker brown would be sound camouflage for the inevitable tin worm!!

Re: Favourite colours for cars
Everyone now decries the British cars but that range of 1100/1300 BL cars was really all that a normal family needed, a much superior car to the horrid VW Beetle and even the Polo and Golf I think.
Man is, by nature, a lazy beast, he does not need twice encouraging to do nothing.

Re: Favourite colours for cars
My parents had the first 1100 in town. It was an excellent car, very comfortable, roomy and nippy for the time.
