Well, I need to find out about a part for my C5. The engine is now running on all four cylinders (YAY!!!), but it seems that the vacuum pipe that goes from the vacuum pump to the servo is damaged at one end (the clip isn't latching properly). Are these still available from Citroen, what is the part number and cost? Thanks.

The amplifier kit is available (5), but not the brake hose (3) and you don't have (4).

We are getting somewhere towards getting my C5 back and running. However, there is a pinhole leak in the LDS reservoir. Can anybody (probably Marc) confirm the part code is 4009 S4? Thanks.

Think all tanks are identical...

Pin hole in the tank. How's that happened?

That is still the current part number and still available direct from Citroen. Priced at £58.98 inc. VAT as of today.

MK I and MK II tanks are the same, but there are different parts on the later MK III (X7) depending on build date.

Thank you, Marc. However, it seems to be made of unobtanium!

If its just a pinhole with no other problems James I would suggest you can plug it by drilling it out and glueing a suitable tapered plug from the inside? :)

They are not showing as NFP, and plenty are showing up on the Bay of Evil:

Although some are 3 times the price of a new one from Citroen.....

The problem is that there is an issue with the hydraulics, and I want to be CERTAIN the tank is not part of the problem. When she was dropped of at my friends' place the nose smacked into the back of the transporter (she was rolled backwards straight down the back of the transporter onto an uphill slope), and a couple of hours later she was leaking LDS and dropping at the nose. Even when she is parked on a level surface she still drops at the nose. If the reservoir is KNOWN to have no leaks and she still drops at the nose then further investigation will be needed.

I have spoken with the transport company (who are trying to sort out the hydraulics), and they have been to their local Citroen dealership, who were very helpful, but they cannot either get hold of the reservoir or tell when they will become available.

Well, my C5 is now back on the road (YAY!). However, the nearside handbrake cable is sticking a bit, so it needs replacing. Please could somebody (almost certainly Marc; thanks, Marc) let me have the procedure for this?

Well done James, back on the road. Here is one procedure - drive it to a main dealer, leave it for 2 days, go to the bank and arrange a personal loan, go back to the dealer and donate shedloads of cash, drive the car home. Then a week or so later you can take it back because the cables are not balanced!!! OR go with Marc's procedure (assuming he's going to post one!) and smile all the way home!! :-D

Is it the cable or caliper..?

Cable change same as mk, 1 although the cat and dpf is a bit bigger then early cars so there's less room to work. So best get the cat and dpf off.. The cross bar near the front and change the tube and cable together..
