Gibbo2286 wrote: 31 Oct 2021, 11:53 So now I'm getting a bit of use out of it I'm missing the CD player which is absent, not used the new fangled infotainment set up before and the handbook is very vague, any tips would be welcome.
Here's a thread on Speak EV gibbo on the subject. Rip your desired CD's onto a USB stick, or subscribe to a music streaming service on your phone.

I have no pretense to have the faintest idea on such things.

BOF sounds like something from The Register!

Yep, synonym for copy. But with an allusion to swiping it.

Aah! Thanks Steve, I thought it might have come from the younger generation's habit of pirateing tracks from wherever and hence being accused of "rip offs". As for BOF it still means boring old f**t in my book! :-D

Thinking over this lack of CD player issue as the cars get more and more PC like, I remembered my next door neighbour's delight at his first 16 valve Skoda -
Spoiler: show

I am as guilty as anyone as I use dongles in my car for music, and leave the CD player for my son.

More likely to 'burn' though, as CD tracks are said to be 'burned' where tapes are 'ripped'.
My CD/DVD burner promotes this - it is k3b (Burn, Baby, Burn) (the 'k' is always prefixed to name programs for the KDE Linux desktop environment). The 'k' is usually spurious, it means nothing.

Found a problem yesterday with the Zoe, been out most of the day and returned home in the dark, no headlamp beam, they're working but one is shining up a tree the other just a round haze no beam, today's job find out why. :x
So the mot done in July must have been a bit dodgy couldn't have passed like that.

Looks like the Zoe may well have "projector" headlights gibbo. With this type of arrangement

Not sure how cleanable/servicable they are other than replacing the bulbs with better ones. You can find the usual squabbly threads on Speak EV like this

Well that was interesting and reasonably painless, the bulb holders are keyed so the bulbs should only fit one way round, both had been fitted the wrong way round so consequently they couldn't fit into the headlamps and were just left hanging in place.
Fitted them correctly and clipped them in, now all good as far as I can tell by aiming them at the fence.

I've been looking to see what the going rate is for the same thing online Mick, nothing under about seven grand it seems.

Then that settles it, you paid around £4-4.5k including insurance if I remember correctly so I suspect you are in for at least a couple of years of effectively free motoring!! Well done!! :-D
