Auxiliary belt tensioner bolt - is it NFP?

Post by Rhothgar »

Been trying to find information on this and found a topic in the forum that refers to Part Number 5703.52?

Can admin or mod please tell me if this is still available?

Mine is slightly bent and was seized. I've damaged the allen head when unscrewing as thought unscrewing was relieving the tension!

Can upload photo of bolt if necessary.

It is the one that acts on the "lollipop" which applies the tension.

Thanks in advance.

570352 looks like the right part no, and still seems to be available, at a not disastrous £2.96. Sure you could get round it with a bolt with a nut behind the tensioner if needed.

Thank you RichardW.

That has made my day. I might even buy two for posterity!!!

I doubt they will but I hope they have it in stock tomorrow so I can crack on with another piece of the jigsaw.

Whilst on the subject of fiches, could I have the one that shows the part numbers for the plastic pipe clips in the engine bay please?

I need one the holds pipe to inlet manifold turbo induction pipe, and a few around the injection pump. I am sure Citroen will probably sell them in batches of 10 or so. I broke a few whilst doing the cylinder head.

Thanks again in advance.

You'll have to be a bit more specific - fittings are shown on a system by system basis - i.e. fuel pipes, cooling, radiator, A/C etc.

It’s a good point Marc.

Car not here but only worked on it on Friday.

Turbo pipe that comes from the inlet manifold on 1.9TD Non AC. There is a clip on that one. Does that come under fuel?

There are also some clips that I think clip accelerator cable to a fuel pipe maybe.

I thought that if I am speaking to Citroen tomorrow to order the bolt it would be good to kill two birds with one stone.

Maybe I’m getting mixed up and the accelerator cable clips to the induction pipe.

This is the only photo I have. I would need to have a look for the others I need.

Ok, so here are the most likely sections. Lets call them Table A and B

Let me know the Table letter, A or B and then the item number. Then I can get you some parts numbers:

OK Marc.

What I believe to be the intercooler pipe is missing off Table 4. Obviously it's yet another fiche I guess.

Could I please have the following part numbers (all for M728 GDL in case there is any doubt)?

Table A.
70, 71, 77/78, 87, 88.

Table B.
4, 10, 12, 13.

Also, would you be so kind, when you have the time, as to let me know the part number for the rear nearside door lock mechanism and the fast idle thermostatic cable thingymabob (which comes off the thermostatic housing and goes to the diesel pump) please?

Many thanks in advance.

Ok, So:

Table A:

(70) 6981 N1 - £2.26
(71) 6981 L0 - £2.15
(77) 6995 11 - £1.28
(78) 1617006280 - 0.71p
(87) 6994 62 - 0.91P
(88) 6994 68 - £1.36

Table B

(4) 96140660 (NFP)
(10) 143635 (NFP)
(12) 0382 56 - £1.87
(13) 6981 N4 - £2.41

All VAT Inclusive.

So the other part you want is under Turbo Cooling and none of those pipes are available, but here's the Diagram:
Roth Turbo.PNG

As for the door:

Very few parts available now - from the diagram below,
Roth Door.PNG
Item (1) the actual Door Lock is only available for the rear left.

Part 9137 44 - £173.62. These may be available with either a 1 or 2 plug unit.

As for the other 'thingy', do you mean the Idle control, item (1)? If so, part 1647 62 - £48.49.

Correct. Item 1. Thanks for all that.

Funnily enough the clip that is broken on the intercooler pipe is not shown on that diagram. Weird.

One of the clips from the other Tables will fit I believe.

Thanks again. Very much appreciated.

And finally...

Back to the subject of the auxiliary drive belt.

Could you tell me what auxiliary belt length the system says my car should have please?

I've tried a 1130 which motor factors say mine is. Some say 1113. I measured the old belt to be 1146 or so I thought. So I fitted an 1145 yesterday and it's way too tight. Had to use a big heavy lever to lever the alternator to get the tension with the bolt screwed all the way in.

I am now thinking it needs the next size up but that is only 1149 which will still be no good. Next size PK section after that is 1165mm. would should be OK but it would be better to know what the system states. It's unlikely that the car has had a new alternator in its life so I think I can discount changes in diameter to pulley wheel size.

Thanks again in advance.

Your alternator belt is 1130-K6 Long. Part: 5750TK for the original OEM £45.05, or they offer a cheaper Citroen alternative part: 1606351180 £13.13.

Thanks for that Marc.

Something must have changed then because there is no way a 1130 fits without the alternator being unbolted so it is free and then it is tight against the engine.

I assume the alternator must have been swapped out at some stage with a bigger pulley or something.

Thinking laterally though, I wonder if someone previously (and it was 1 owner when I bought it and always dealer serviced) put the bolt back in wrong.

Should the flanged head of the bolt pull on the lollipop? Or should it push the lollipop do you know?

I assume that the slackest position is with the lollipop as high as possible? Almost embarrassing if I am wrong but then again the dealer would have rebuilt it incorrectly if that is the case!

I've paid £7.20 for each belt I've bought so far.

This is the belt as specified by Citroen of course, although the alternator choice may vary considerably.

This is the diagram in case it helps:

I have another 4 belts on order for tomorrow.

1153, 1180, 1185 and 1190.

Shame I couldn’t get a 1165

One will fit!!!

Managed to speak with Jim earlier. It could have had another pump and/or alternator fitted from original.

Strange I thought for a one owner car.

Thanks for all your help, Marc.

Have a great weekend.
