I got an email yesterday offering me a Duracell solar storage battery but it seems to be only available to customers of one energy supplier,
I'll be investigating later, it's reckoned to be half the price of the Tesla offering.
You'll have a 22 kWh storage battery at your home shortly Gibbo, and you will have paid considerably less than Tesla or Duracell want :-D Just need a box with some interface gubbins. If it can be done in Porto Santo surely it can in the Forest of Dean :-D

That Fluence has had very little use over its 7 years at all with the odd gap in the record. First MOT should have been June 2016, and only 72 miles done in the entire year from February 2017.

First registered June 2013
MOT February 2017 6,018 miles
MOT January 2018 6,090 miles
MOT January 2019 16,028 miles
MOT March 2020 22,665 miles
MOT expired March 2021
Last V5 issued 11th March 2021

Difficult to work out what the current owners intentions are. Its on SORN, hasn't moved for months, acquired after the MOT Expired. I expect it would be a very messy sell on for the current owner, but 4 months standing doing nothing wouldn't suggest an active project, and has probably trashed a decent slice of the traction battery capacity.
If RCI have their enforcers head appropriately screwed on, they should be extracting monthly lease payments from the current owner, unless in the extremely unlikely event the battery lease has already been bought out.

When it was new it would have cost around £23,000 for the car, with the Battery Lease Payments an additional monthly charge.

One wonders if there's a way of getting out of the battery lease agreement by 'selling' the car and transferring the lease to someone who then mysteriously vanishes ?

Very unlikely if the rigmarole I'm having to go through to get the Zoe transferred is the norm, the new owner has to provide evidence of his existence with documents, bank details and a photo of his driving licence before the previous owner is released from the lease contract.
Man is, by nature, a lazy beast, he does not need twice encouraging to do nothing.

For anyone considering a bargain basement Leaf, you may have to let those sort of opinions wash over. :-D

Nearly 2 years later, no regrets, the opposite...should have done it earlier :-D and I see the "original" shape Leaf as...

Sophisticated, stylish, classic and a glorious addition to this village scene....particularly if you get one with shiny ears in Alizarin Crimson Pearl. :-D

In other Bargain Basement Electric news got the Vehicle tax reminder today. They do check whether it has a valid MOT in the process, so although being £0.00 for 12 Months Tax, I guess if it doesnt have a MOT, it doesn't allow you to Tax it, and expects a SORN, and if you dont TAX or SORN it the clock starts ticking on further possible action.

A minor number-noticing satisfying moment, as precisely at pulling up chez nous 45554 miles since it was a new born.

Jezza on Radio 2 this lunchtime on the car radio had a feature on old telephone boxes. Even called up the "local hero" call box up in Aberdeenshire somewhere, which still has its equipment and gets its fair share of "local Hero" tourists.

So when this box appeared at the side of the road, BB Leaf fancied a selfie.

Yes literally the 2nd anniversary today of bringing the Leaf home. 17,500 ish miles so far. So far so good no regrets at all. Replaced rear discs and pads, and 2 new tyres at the rear.

In a bizarre series of coincidences, I checked the condition of the rear shoes and drums on my truck when I got home today. Not bad condition considering they're the originals and the truck is 12 years old and has done 136,000 miles
