Jabbed again.

Post by Gibbo2286 »

Just been for my third Pfizer 'top up' jab, a long queue outside the hall where they're doing them but all done now. :)

No top-up jab for me yet but I did get my flu jab last Friday. Surprisingly I had a sore arm from this and even more surprisingly it was still sore yesterday, two days later. Arm is fine today fortunately.

I had my first 'flu jab a fortnight ago. Always passed previously as so many had quite extreme reactions to it.
As with the Covid jabs, no reaction whatsoever. Never felt a thing when injected either.

Boosted!

As with all the prior ones, no side effects noticed.
Got there early and was out - after the fifteen minute wait in reception - before my appointment time.

Took my neighbour for her flu jab this morning she was asked if she wanted both the flu and the covid booster today but declined so she has to go again next week.
Mine's booked for Wednesday and if offered both I'll accept.

I tried to get the Covid, 'flu and pneumonia ones all together. It wasn't possible this year, it was a bit of a struggle to get an appointment at all, and a fortnight wait.

I had COVID two months ago, so I need to wait another while. Hospitalisations are apparently on the rise, so better safe than sorry

I work at the disease hub in West London, otherwise known as Heathrow. I'm sure it's where I picked up COVID both times I had it, the first time was March 2020.

Here's a picture of me there yesterday... I've never really stopped wearing a mask there. I have to walk through arrivals in T5 if I go by motorbike rather than taking the company van.

A friend of mine flew into London the other day and was told by a friend of his "Oh, you don't have to wear a mask anymore". What they failed to take into account is that my friend is a senior epidemiologist with his national government. He wears a mask.

I wear a mask most of the time, ones with activated charcoal filters that eliminate the stink of fags, aftershave, deodorants etc. Any synthetic fragrances, actually aldehydes.
Covid did me a favour in that respect.
Still get caught out, such as when some cycletwat whooshes silently past from behind and leaves a perfumy trail of death behind.

Arrgh! I feel your pain Steve  It really gets me when I'm running and I come up behind a smoker puffing away on some foul-smelling fag or some old tart smelling like an explosion in a perfume factory.. Hate it... And then there's the e-fag puffers making huge clouds of sickly-sweet vapours...

They wonder why I take such a wide berth around them...

Worst of all are those openly puffing those funny 'herbal' fags

Oddly enough vape has no effect whatsoever. The smell isn't pleasant but not lethal either.

I'm an ex-smoker so I don't mind the smell of cigarette smoke too much, but perfume and aftershave get me right in the back of throat...I wonder if I might have an allergy to them

My wife smoked and although I despised the smell it wasn't a problem until I was exposed to Methyl Isocyanate, all downhill after that.

Same here, I actually really like the smell of a cigarette on a cold winter's morning outdoors! Reminds me of happier times in my youth, I guess..
