Jump Starter?

I bought one of those lithium jump start batteries for my other car. All it did was click click click. Tried my friend's one, it did the same. Went and borrowed a proper looking jump starter. This did the trick. Went out and started my car again today. Started fine. Now I'm home, I'm tempted to leave my lights on to run the battery down and try this thing again. I would really like it to work, as the Picasso is an EGS and would be handy if for some reason the battery went low.

What is the cold cranking amps rating of the jump pack?

So You would think it would start a 1.4 diesel Fiat Punto
I've seen a YouTube of a guy disconnecting a battery and starting a big American pickup.
So I might try that instead of running the battery down.

Don't disconnect the main battery. If the engine were to start with it disconnected, you could seriously damage the alternator.

150A is a bit mean for a good start on a diesel.
If a start with traditional jump leads and another battery/vehicle works ok, then perhaps the emergency starter (or its cables) are not up to the job.

Also suspect the main battery connectors. If either get at all warm after cranking (or attempting to crank) they have some resistance inside them, and should be replaced.
