I have a good flaring tool I have used many times. But as I said above, I have never seen the system Citroen uses before.

Saeedm, as said the repair that you have carefully done looks good, and will hopefully last.
To avoid damage to these small soft steel unions by using an open-ended spanner, you can either buy a set of single-hex flare-nut spanners...

.
or make your own from a standard ring spanner, cut-out just large enough to fit over the pipe...

Datadogie, the type of joint above is unique to Citroen, and with its rubber sleeve is actually designed to seal even more firmly under pressure. The tool kit to create the "built-in" swage (in several sizes of pipe) is available from a few companies, but isn't cheap. Citroen have used this type of joint for around 50 years now.
Two varieties of it shown here:

In both cases, the nut pushes against the swage, pushes the pipe end (b) into the component, and forces the rubber sleeve (a) to firmly fill the space under the nut.

WOW!

Did you spray that or brush it on? Impressive.

I am about to replace some pipes in cupro-nickel and want to make them look genuine. I did consider using heat shrink tubing as someone else has suggested.

With epoxy paint, I could actually buy cheaper pipe presumably and simply paint it. More labour though...

I would not put the seal end (forward of the bubble) in the hole with paint on it.

white exec wrote: 31 Aug 2021, 20:53 The seals needs to be tubular. They expand into the gap when tightened, and seal tighter with hydraulic pressure.
I have some of the 3.5mm Citroen seals here.
Dimensions:
L = 10mm
OD = 5.5mm
ID = 3?3.15mm

For LHM use, HNBR would be best, as it's resistant to mineral oil.
Is it possible to source HNBR pipe with these internal and external dimensions.

Just rang Citroen and they claim that the LHM seals are now NFP!!! Along with Dog Bones!

Probably going to Euro Car Care this afternoon to pick up the cunifer. They do individuals seals but they are £1.68 a piece!!!

Definitely NFP. Citroen at Mansfield useless. My knowledgable mate at Nottingham confirms dog bones and a bolt for the adjuster bolt for my auxiliary tensioner on the 1.9TD. Only problem you need to buy 5 no. Dog bones available individually.

To be fair to citroen, they've not produced a car with LHM fitment pipes in nearly quarter of a century.... However, the price ECC are asking does seem a bit steep for the seals, I wonder what Pleiades charge for them? Also guess we need to look at sourcing the appropriate sized rubber tubing. I do have a manufacturer up my leave who has made various seals for us in the bast, but they are pricey, as they are aimed at the oil industry, who can afford it, our tuppence ha'penny tinkering isn't what they'd want to do. But if we can't get any joy sourcing the tubing we need, I'll reach out to them, and see what they are going to charge, but I suspect to make it viable, I'm going to need to order about a thousand of them, so it might become a community initiative to crowdfund a batch of seals, as I don't want to have a monkey to a bag-o-sand tied up in LHM seals sitting on my shelf.

These tubular LHM seals can be almost infinitely reused with care... In my time with hydraulic Citroens I felt the need to replace very, very few.

If one end looked a bit scruffy I either reused it upside-down or trimmed a little bit off of it... The material they're made from never seemed to deteriorate in my experience and with all the ones I reused I never had a leak...

Ditto sphere seals...
