Xantia Steering column ferruled washer! Where does it go?

Hopefully someone will have done a heater matrix job on a Xantia X1 before and know the answer to this question!

A couple of these fell out from somewhere when I removed the steering column nuts.

I suspect they are from the top two as the bracket is thicker there. They also had some remnants of a black washer? on there which had largely disintegrated and what remained (very little) fell off too.

Thanks in advance. Can't believe I cannot even remember whether they dropped when I unscrew top two or lower two nuts... Old age!

Here's the parts list for the 1995 Xantia in your profile - if another car let me know.

(70) and (72) locations are shown, so hopefully this will help you locate where they go.

Note: (7) & (8) are Steering Bracket Bushes and the left and right ones are different - but these are probably not what you're having an issue with - just mentioned it for reference.

Very weird!

They are not even shown on there.

I think they go in the location of 70 and 72 at the upper end because that bracket is thick enough. Though maybe they should go at the lower end as there are only nuts there. I think the ferrules are obviously part of the steering column configuration and maybe have something to do with the flexibility of the bottom fixings when the column is unlocked, raised and lowered and locked.
