Replacing / coding a lost key C4 Grand Picasso

Post by Compact »

Hi apologies if this has already been answered.

Lost the spare key for 66 plate C4 Grand Picasso, whilst gardening, think it has gone in the green bin (to the recycling centre).
I'm looking at a practical way to replace.
Citroen dealership has quoted £330+
Mobile key company has quoted £260+

So looking at DIY.
Alibaba is super cheap, but confusing on which is the right Lexia 3 +Diagbox to get £60+
Uk based suites sell at roughly double the price but with lots of support £105+
I understand DIY I will have to get the metal key cut, but I have never used that part

My questions are
1) Where do you recommend to buy the blank key from? (Again Alibaba is super cheap, but confusing and unknown quality)
2) How easy did you find it to do yourself?

Thanks

Is this a proximity key then?
Ali express can be hit & miss. Most places in the UK that sell quality aftermarket keys will normally only sell them to people with a trade account.
You will also need your 4 digit security code to program keys.

Cheers for the reply
Yes it is the proximity key I'm after. I have the 4 digit code on the credit card.
It is looking more likely that I will end up paying someone to do the whole job.
More expensive, though at least I don't end up with another tool I've used once or twice, stored at the back of the garage for the next 10 years..

Try an alternative mobile locksmith.
I am getting a spare key for my Civic on Thursday, £130. Dealer price was just short of £300.
