Wobbly wheel help

Post by p1cass0p0w3r »

Hi to all I have a 2003 xpic 2.0l diesel
Failed mot on wheel bearing...when car is jacked the front passenger wheel wiggles slightly hand on top and bottom of wheel moves about 10mm
Can this be tightened via big nut on driveshft ( mine feels tight ) and can bearing be replaced with no special tools ? Thanks

No, it's a double row ball bearing so tightening it up will not do anything (unless the nut is loose...) 35mm socket, big breaker bar, and some sort of press required, and on a nearly 20 year old lots of persuasion is going to be required! Not really a beginner's job..

Brake calipers are usually T55, get a decent one, they can be tight! Hub nut is 35mm, you will probably get away with a 36mm six point if you already have one.
