Well done Richard with the first spot. We'll keep the thread going for the month of September and see how many we get :-D

The UK's best selling car in at No1!

I only just realised today that it was change of reg time again. Seems only 2 mins since 21's came out.

Yep. Only left the house to go to my daughter's to seal a leak in her guttering. She lives 100 yards from me.
Failed miserably to spot E-cars and fix the gutter - full of water from yesterdays rain.

8 Days with only one sighting.

UK September New Car sales in crisis shocker :?: .

There must be some fleets from 2018 coming off lease/contract hire. Is an NHS car park one of the most likely places for a 71 Reg spot :?:

Keep 'em peeled FCFers

I saw a dark (blue or black) Audi Q7 on the M40 (between the M25 and J3) around lunchtime today. Unfortunately it was being driven like an Audi.

I've drawn a blank today. Best chance I thought if no random on the road or carpark spots were forthcoming, would have been the Great Wall dealership at Coldstream. No all the new ones didn't have their proper plates on.

Did spot one of the first classic leafs on an 11 plate in a beautiful blue, but that's what is known as irrelevant to the thread!

So up to now its Scotland 2 England, Northern Ireland and Wales 1 and no pictures.

Or in models USA (but a fair bet it was made in Shanghai) 1 VW Group 2

In my thread title amending heyday regs 69, 20, 70, and 21 just fed into the same thread with a bit of editing of the title, but 71's have got one of their own, didn't want to bother you Marc with a trivial request! :-D

This was how it all started off

Tell us about spotting your first 69, with original pictures if possible.

Excellent work James, double thread score for that one, and another German :-D and a couple of Tesla Model 3 71 reg too you mentioned on the EV spotting thread.

We broke our duck today with a vaguest of vague spotting which I can only describe as a Caravan/Motorhome followed up quite closely by a Large Scania HGV.

You may think that's one for the Swedes, but Scania is as Swedish as Bratwurst these days...another in the VW Group.
https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Scania_AB#Ownership
Scania AB is 100% owned by the German automotive company Volkswagen Group, forming part of its heavy commercial vehicle subsidiary, Traton, along with MAN Truck & Bus and Volkswagen Caminhões e Ônibus.

Volkswagen gained ownership of Scania by first buying Volvo's stake in 2000, after the latter's aborted takeover attempt, increasing it to 36.4% in the first quarter 2007.[26] It then bought out Investor AB in March 2008, raising its share to 70.94%.[27] The deal was approved by regulatory bodies in July 2008.[25] Scania then became the ninth marque in the Volkswagen Group.[28] By 1 January 2015, Volkswagen controlled 100% of the shares in Scania AB.

At the start of Day 11 in 71 Reg Spotting Month we have 8

3 Teslas, 3 VW Group (Audi, Skoda and Scania HGV) 1 Mercedes and 1 Other (Unidentified Camper/Motorhome)

Ridiculous extrapolation 1.....There are only 2 automotive companies in the world really trying to sell their vehicles.
