Battery Charge Fault

Post by heshamderbala »

Hi
I had the problem of "battery charge fault" from long time and it only appears in the morning after leaving the car for more than 8 or 9 hours and the car start normally and after 2 to 3 minutes it disappears and won't come out till leaving the car for more than 8 hours.
Citroen Service center said they checked everything and even the battery and all of the sockets and brushed it, then they told me it may be a problem in the battery and battery service center confirmed there is no problem in the battery.
Now it is time to replace the battery and nothing changed for about a week now then citroen service center said this message appears in all citroen c4 grand picasso after 5 years.
Honestly i dont trust these words any opinions.
Note: Alternator and wire checked and working fine
Thanks
Hesham

That's sounds like absolute rubbish!

It can only be a few things

1) Faulty Battery or the battery is at end of service life - so reduced capacity and not holding a charge for very long. Even some 'new' batteries may be bad if they have been sitting too long on a shelf.
2) Faulty charging circuit (alternator / wiring)
3) Bad battery terminals so making poor contact or they may be corroded / sulphated
4) Bad Earth connection
5) Poor connections or corrosion in one or more of the fuse boxes

These are some of the more common issues I would be looking at.
