C5 Mk. 1 Cigarette Lighter

I have bought a (probably crap) Bluetooth FM transmitter for my sister’s C5 but not had a chance to try it yet. It worked on my C6 but I won’t have my hands on her car again for a few weeks.

I know the sockets on her car seem to always be live, even with the ignition off, when I checked it out last with a phone plugged in. However, is this really true? Maybe I just didn’t wait long enough for a timer to switch them off?

I don’t want this thing to stay on forever and drain the battery.

1) Will the cigarette lighter sockets eventually switch off after the ignition is off? Is this the “economy mode” that I have read about on here?

2) If the car does have some sort of cigarette lighter timer, with this plugged in will the small current draw stop it switching off its sockets?

I can confirm that the middle socket towards the rear is always live as I left a phone charger with a LED in it for a month when it wasn't being driven and the LED was still on. Wasn't able to test the front one as it is a bit too deep for my chargers and they don't connect.

As above, front one ignition controlled, centre one always on and the rear one (in the estate) always on.
Can't remember if there was a rear one in the hatchback.
