207 hdi, what are these wires for in the boot?

recently bought a 207 hdi, it has a few things wrong with it many of which are now sorted, one of them was an open circuit for the fuel cap sensor

I found these wires in the boot, they were both unplugged, a small connector with two tiny wires, and a large connector with a few bigger wires

I connected them back up, yet nothing has changed anywhere

so what are they for?

As to the issue, if you look closely at the sleeves of the wiring, there will be some code numbers. Pop them up or get a closer photo of the markings and we may be able to assist.

I cant find anything written on the sleeves

the bigger plug has "PBT ? 077" on it, but I think thats the type of plug, the wires seems to come from the left side inner wing, to under the seats, I dont think they will be for the in-tank pump cos the engine was working before I connected them back up.

probably seat belt sensors?

There will be codes on - they all have them. You'll need to peel back some of that black wiring insulation tape far enough to see them - they are printed every 4" inches or thereabouts.
