It runs water into the channel (frame) under the door on my Xantia.
I should fix a little hole in the channel under the right door. Then it started raining, and then it started dripping water out of the hole. As you can see from the picture, there is quite a distance between the parts which is put together there in the channel on that side, but on the other side, the parts is put very close together. So could it be a sloppy welding in the channel that makes a small opening that causes the water to run in? The front drain hole from the front door is also just above that opening as well, and it also appears that water is running from the windscreen down to this opening as well. So how about sealing the whole opening with a sealant? Or does anyone have any other tips? Or maybe the water in the channel comes from another place?

This was perhaps a too specific question, so maybe someone has a more general knowledge of how rust is created in channels?
