Re: How to Replace the Internal MicroSD Card - RT6
Well the dealer who said he had fitted radio's before and programmed them couldn't even get it to accept the vin number so a waste of £120 the new sd card cured the re booting and turning off the radio is stuck in czech so no bluetooth or sat nav the firmware worked ok and the maps are ok its just the language problem and missing option in the set up menu

Re: How to Replace the Internal MicroSD Card - RT6
I updated the firmware from a USB flash drive. No sound can be heard from the speakers. I dont know what can i do with this?
Re: How to Replace the Internal MicroSD Card - RT6
Hi Marc, I have exactly the same problem as "tompyt", bought the car a week ago, and now the flashing logo and spinning cd. Good start.GiveMeABreak wrote: ↑20 Jul 2021, 12:37 I will send you a PM with links to the ISO files - from these make a CD from the ISO at LOW burning speed on a CD-R. Then you can try and boot off the CD and see if it will try and install the firmware. If not, you may have to try the Micro SD card replacement as specified in the guide at the beginning of this thread, then try one of the firmware CDs again on completion. If all that fails, you may need another unit.
So, I have no clue which firmware it was, can you supply me with links to some old ones to start with? After I changed the SD-card that is..

I'm going to try and update the guide within the next couple of days, so please bear with me - as I'm trying to avoid loss of user data after replacing the SD card.

CAG
I had a problem with SD. I did it as follows:
1.I have inserted a new SD card into the slot
2. Formatted Fat32 Pendrive in Linux (Widows 10 did not work)
3. I have saved the firmware sent by Marc on a pendrive
4. I put the pendrive into the usb socket.
The firmware has been saved to the SD card. Unfortunately, I don't have sound in the speakers now

Re: How to Replace the Internal MicroSD Card - RT6
I'm ready to do the same, the old SD card is out and all I need now is a firmware, preferably 2.77, does anyone have a download link?

Re: How to Replace the Internal MicroSD Card - RT6
Marc, after updating the firmware I have no sound. The display behind the steering wheel says the radio is off. The RT6 screen displays the radio station as if everything is ok. Have you heard of a similar problem occurring after a firmware update?

Not specifically with no sound - but each update can be different depending on the prior version of firmware.

Re: How to Replace the Internal MicroSD Card - RT6
Update to a long story..
I had no luck in installing the firmware via usb or several different burned CDRs so I ended up buying 2.86 from my Peugeotdealer. Worked perfectly.
BUT. Like tompty I now have no sound at all. JBL stereo.
I talked to my dealer, and another one 100km away, about the configuration file but either one of them have a clue what I mean. Not even after supplying them with the detailed description and service bulletin number from Marc..
The response was like "Well, we dont know, but we can try, it will be expensive though"

Re: How to Replace the Internal MicroSD Card - RT6
Dear forumers,
I have a C4 B7 car originally with an RT5 head unit. I bought a used RT6 RNEG2 unit. I have tried to connect but the screen is still black only the CD drive makes some noise.
Can you help me how to make it alive?
Does it require a new firmware? Where can I find the files which should be written on the CDR or pendrive?
Thank you for the help!
