A mini-camper, not much room to stand up in but less leaky than a tent :-D

I’m currently rattling around the Highlands in the 1995 Peugeot Boxer based Autosleeper in the picture.

Last night was Loch Katrine, today we’ve driven over Glencoe to Glenfinnan Viaduct (the Harry Potter Hogwarts express bridge!) and now in Fort William for the night. Tomorrow off up past Loch Ness to Inverness and Findhorn…

That's a bit special Mick and the Nissan engine is unbreakable in my experience, I had a taxi customer with over a million miles on one.

There seems to be a glut of new Dutch leisure vehicles/caravans being designed just now. I first saw this curved extending roof idea on an Aussie camping trailer. How things have moved on. I sketched up a design for an expanding caravan 20 years ago only to find a near identical idea in the media last year. What is it they say about great minds and fools?

The cartoonist, Giles, designed and built his own caravan (and it makes several appearances in his cartoons), with several innovations. It had indicators to let the people behind know which way he was turning, a fold down section which was his studio when they were touring, and (added later) what appeared to be a large fin at the back was actually a 50 gallon water tank. The only problem he had was that the first time he took it out the wheels collapsed (he had not calculated for the weight, and fitted car wheels). Fortunately a friend was able to point him in the direction of lorry wheels that were the same size, and he was able to have many enjoyable trips.

The expanding caravan I had in mind was not dissimilar to this only a bit more boxy. Basically a "normal" looking caravan but with two full length opposite slideouts a la American RV.

Pint Pot could have morphed along these lines if a suitable Luton had come up before my Ducato panel van.

I really need to sit down and document Pint Pot and our experiences with the Air Control Module/battery issues on our Hybrid 4.

The camper designed by the students at Eindhoven Uni has completed its trip to Spain.

The team started the trip in Eindhoven, the Netherlands, and ended it in Tarifa, Spain, on October 15. That’s a 3,000-kilometer (1,860-mile) journey, and the camper drove 2,000 kilometers of the trip on solar power alone. Technical issues at the beginning of the trip resulted in the camper being initially transported the first 1,000 km using a trailer.
