C4 GP blower fault

Unread post by Arnellc18 »

Currently baffled by a fault on my C4 Grand Picasso. The blower controls light up as expected but the blower doesn’t run. All fuses seem okay, ive had the fan running on a bench from a battery so I know the fan is good. Have voltage checked the fan connector but I have no power there

Read elsewhere there’s a relay in the engine fuse box that could be at fault, replaced the fuse box but fault is still the same. Has anyone got any previous with a similar blower fault (they seem common) or a wiring diagram so I can chase the power back to the supply

It's likely to be the blower motor control module. These are a common failure. When they go, and because the modules are designed to slowly spin up the fan gradually, they don't have enough welly to get the motor going from a low speed. Replacing this is generally the answer.

There are plenty of recent posts under the Citroen Forum on this for the C4 Picasso - but there are different models and options so would need the VIN to see which system you have.

On your vehicle which is the older version you have ‘simple air conditioning’. The module is a half moon shape and may be separate or integrated onto the blower motor itself.

This one ??, but don’t buy the cheap ones off eBay, they are pretty much useless. Stick to a genuine one if you want years of use. If this is your original it would have done 9 years duty cycle already.
