Where is this precisely :?:
Image

So some easy enough clues. It has Seven of those windows and each has a stanza/verse from a poem on it you can guess the sequence from the pic.

So answer the question Who is the Poet :?: and you are half way there to the location.
Here come the sarcastic snails

..and to draw an appropriate line under the story.

Should anyone ever set foot in Rose Street Edinburgh, the poem is in the windows for anyone who cares to stop a while and notice it.

This is It
Monday I found a boot –
Rust and salt leather.
I gave it back to the sea, to dance in.

Tuesday a spar of timber worth thirty bob.
Next winter
It will be a chair, a coffin, a bed.

Wednesday a half can of Swedish spirits.
I tilted my head.
The shore was cold with mermaids and angels.

Thursday I got nothing, seaweed,
A whale bone,
Wet feet and a loud cough.

Friday I held a seaman’s skull,
Sand spilling from it
The way time is told on kirkyard stones.

Saturday a barrel of sodden oranges.
A Spanish ship
Was wrecked last month at The Kame.

Sunday, for fear of the elders,
I sit on my bum.
What’s heaven? A sea chest with a thousand gold coins.

So for 50 points each - where's the tower shown for the aerial shot near the start of the video, and where's the car park where he did the 'walkaround' of the car ? :)

Clues can be given.

Très bien for the tower - 50 points, impressive. :)
As dubious as it might sound, I've known a few people be decidely ill at ease when visiting that place. :o

So very very close for the car park, but not quite there :-D

One of the Geograph pics of the tower has this in the write up...
Rumour has it that the Greek singer Demis Roussos was interested in purchasing the tower, but I cannot verify this!

Where can you find a hotel equipped with a motor pit? :)

Nice try but not the answer I'm afraid. Clues can be issued after the third guess if necessary! :-D

I reckon that meets the criteria...."hotel with motor pit"

So here's a throwaway guess to get the clue to the answer on the card.

So "motor pit" in the thinking of a known purveyor of the "play on words" could be a "car pit".

Now I know for a fact that the Travelodge at Cockermouth in Cumbria definitely has a "carpit" in most of the rooms as one of the normal features, although most of the en-suite's have tiled floors.

I love the way that a random question can generate so many correct but not as on the card answers!! The answer on the card has been posted on the FCF recently!! :-D
