Re: Remember these.? All our yesterdays
I used to do DJing when I was young. Had my own twin deck unit with built in strobe and flashing lights - all self built. Wrote off my Merc 220 pontoon with all my records in it!

Re: Remember these.? All our yesterdays
I wondered exactly how the hanko worked so I had a quick delve and found this QI:

Re: Remember these.? All our yesterdays
I had a computer with a thermal printer and a 'Wang' computer that I used for packet radio.
In the '60s we had a telephone answering machine in a largish cabinet with a reel to reel tape deck, the deck I recognised from several domestic tape recorders of the time, can't for the life of me think what it was called.

Possibly. Had a clear plastic cover that you lifted up. The deck had like a gated gear lever with three positions.

The wife thinks we rented it from 'Answerphone' can't find a picture of it anywhere. Wooden case and cream coloured deck.

Fast rewind left, fast fwd right, play/record upward. Collaro/BSR. Or maybe Grundig. Or...
Revox was a seriously expensive Swedish (?) studio deck - the A77 was one of their gems, able to take 10" reels. Cost more than a Ferrograph Series 7, iirc.

That's the one Chris, the decks were used in cheap tape recorders but can't even find one of those. It worked well enough.

Re: Remember these.? All our yesterdays
Trying to remember the name of the fleapit in Whitby. It was pretty dire but always had the best films and lowest prices.
The other two were posher, more expensive but trailed behind on film quality.
Up the alley to the right of Goldbuys
Hardly recognise the place these days.

Re: Remember these.? All our yesterdays
When I was still at school Watford was very well catered for by the showbiz industry. We had:
The Odeon north Watford
The Odeon the Parade
The Gaumont the Parade
The Essoldo King Street
The Carlton Clarendon Road
The Empire Merton Road
And the Palace Theatre which was a live theatre nextdoor to The Carlton.
Now there are two multiscreens, one at Woodside and one in the town centre shopping centre.
Saturday Morning Flicks for me was at the North Watford Odeon with Davy Crockett being my favourite!
