C3 fuel gauge

Hi
Me again, my 2012 c3 had over three quarters of a tank of fuel but I was going on a long journey so decided to fill it right up.
I kept going until it was to the neck so absolutely full. Only took £18
When I got back in fuel gauge hasn't gone to full

I have read a lot now about not overfilling or this will happen
My question is.......Will it right itself next time I fill up or will it need plugging 8n to Lexia.???

Do a BSI reset before you do anything else.

How do I reset BSI ? Is it wait 3mins and disconnected battery?

Follow this:

BSI Reset / Battery Disconnect / Reconnect Procedure

I had this happen, always stop fuelling after the third click. I had mine recalibrated at the dealers, but you may be lucky after a reset.

BSI reset didn't cure it so guess wait till next refuel and see if it sorts itself if not a trip to the garage for a session with Lexia

There should be some tests they can do, but if this fails, then it is possible the gauge itself in the pump housing may be stuck or broken.

Yes initially thought fuel sender but 5gen 8 read a lot of threads about this problem
So not so sure now the gauge is going down as I use the car but obviously under reading as it started on just over three quarters 2hen I filled it right up.

At last I have done 200 miles so topped up and fuel gauge went to full

Ok, great - it may of been enough to empty some of the tank and the sloshing about may of freed up the sender wire.

So - don't fill after the third click in future as officially recommended and you should be fine.
