Citroen DS5 airon...

Post by p4n05 »

Hi everyone,
Quick question on the aircon for a 2012 citroen ds5. It has been regassed and no leaks were found but it still doesn't cool the air very good if at all. Is it time for a new compressor? Any ideas?
Many thanks in advance

I would check the pollen filter (sometimes know and the cabin filter). They should be replaced as part of the service interval. If they are clogged the airflow is reduced, and this will affect the Air Con.

A diagnostics session with a Lexia is probably needed. It can read all the temperature sensors and give details of what the system thinks it is doing. It could be that the air is being cooled properly, but then bing mixed with warm air because of a sensor problem or maybe a problem with the flap motors.

There are forum members with Lexia equipment who are willing to help other members. There is a list of these members (which is in the link below), but some members have 'gone quiet', so may not respond to a PM.

After visiting a number of different garages that didnt want to even touch my aircon issue and got differernt reasons from all of them i found a local garage that was happy to have a look. It turned out to be a seal in the high pressure port that leaked. Valve changed and regassed and nice icy cold air in the cabin now. If anyone is local to me and are after a garage DEESAND is the one that were really helpful, polite and very honest with prices etc. They even kept the valve to show me when i went to pick the car up.

Before anyone asks about how much it cost:
* Filled with nitrogen to find leak
* Replaced valve
* Regass and recheck for leak
Total:£78
Not bad ;)

Yes, these condensers are not cheap and one of the most vulnerable parts of the system - very prone to stone chippings.
