Hello guys
Can someone please tell me what cable is the one in the photo that is cut or torn?
It used to be where the arrow points where that nut is.
It is cut or torn on both front sides left and right wheel...
Car is Citroen C5 Mk3 2.0HDi 140 FAP
Thanx
Cable?

Re: Cable?
I think you'll find this is the front brake pad wear indicator wires.
I have put green arrows where they are suppose to join up. These can become torn through wear, but I've also known mechanics to cut them off because they can't be bothered to fit them, or people selling cars can cut them to prevent the warning showing up so they don't have to get new pads!

Re: Cable?
Hey
Thx for the answer, but these are 2 complete separate cables. The cut (or torn) cable goes where my arrow points. I can see that it was torn from there.
The break pad wear indicator is in its place. On both sides.

Re: Cable?
That's the only cables that come to mind apart from the wheel speed sensors - but if this was cut, you would be getting ESP faulty warnings in the car.
You'll have to try and trace the wires back to see where they originate from, or try and peel back some of the sheathing at the end and identify the codes on the wires that are printed every few inches. Pop the codes up here and I might be able to help more.

Re: Cable?
I think the cable that is still in place is the wheel speed / ABS sensor wire, whilst the cut ones are the brake pad wear wires. Very common for those to be not connected up due to lazy mechanics.

Re: Cable?
That's what I thought Robin... but the OP thinks not.
