Most of the few student cars at college were decidedly secondhand (or older).
There was one exception, where Daddy had presented his little (hyphenated) precious with a new one - a Hillman Husky.

Car of the day...

Ever had one, driven one, been a passenger in one, towed a caravan with one, had the wheel fall off in one....

They are on a little tour, there was another one bit awkwardly parked to get a front end pic discretely. Also on the tour a nice shiny MGB GT

We had a Dolomite 1850HL, in British Racing Green, for a few years. While fun, it had some crazy things under the bonnet - like 'nodding' twin Stombergs, and a totally hopeless distributor. We managed to tame it — new radiator, a Kenlowe, and electronic ignition. P.D.Gough rose to the occasion by producing their first-ever s/s exhaust for the model, which fitted like a glove. PAP400R had a less than glove-like driving position though, but was well screwed together. My then OH's, it gave way to a BX16TRS, the beginning of a love-affair with Citroen.

I bought a Sprint in BRG for forty quid from a bloke who had lost his licence.
Went well but was condemned with terminal rust.

anyone familiar with the work of Richard Thompson? The Pickled Egg Jukebox is, and very appropriate to musically accompany todays Classic Bike of the Day spot excellent bit of guitar work too.

Said James, "In my opinion, there's nothing in this world
Beats a '52 Vincent and a Redheaded girl.
Now Triumphs, and Nortons and Beezers won't do.
Oh, they don't have a Soul like a Vincent '52."
Well not a 52 or a Black Lightning, but a Vincent Rapide 1950
