EGS 6 gearbox programming.

Post by discv »

I have an idea that this box as fitted to my C4GP might benefit from a recalibration procedure using lexia 3.
It looks like it might take a little time to go through the whole process, well for the first time- given that I would choose to pick my way carefully.
My worry is whether the economy mode would kick in [the one that switches off the radio etc.]

Dont worry about economy mode if its doing a diagnostic procedure,Lexia knows its doing this. I would however connect another running car with jump leads as battery voltage is critical when doing this, it can take a lot out the battery, if the voltage drops too low the procedure can and does fail.

Thanks wheeler. IF the procedure were to fail is that fatal- or is it just back to square #1

It is not a problem if the calibration is not completed

I wouldn’t go as far as fatal but it can prevent the car starting. If the gearbox ECU doesn’t know what gear it is in it will inhibit the starter.
If you use battery support you should be ok. If the procedure fails just repeat it.
