Drop links aren't fun...are they...

Post by Moog »

Bought new Delphi drop links for my Mk1 Xsara Picasso. Last set lasted 25k miles but getting clonky.

Nice easy job for a bank holiday weekend...Yes not too bad if you don't encounter a rusted thread/nut on the top ball joint behind the strut - one with a crudded-up and rounded-off Torx hole :(

Eventually got it off with a combination of an angle grinder that was too big really, and a Hilka nut splitter from Screwfix cranked up with a 19mm socket on a torque wrench - that splitter thing seems to be made of fake metal but it just about got there...

Angle grinder every time :) Takes some inventiveness to get at the top one, but it is possible - certainly on a Xsara TD, a Berlingo, a Xsara Picasso.. an MX5 and more 🤣
