Hi all,
Well, the C5 has been running really well over the last year and has just ticked over 100,000. Very comfortable car once I had changed the suspension spheres.
Typically, with it having just completed 100k miles, I now have a problem haha
The climate control system does not change the airflow direction when either on auto or manually selecting (top, middle, bottom). It seems to be constantly stuck in the upper position however I’m not feeling much air pass over the windscreen.
Fans seems to blow fine and cold/hot air changes as expected.
Any thoughts? I remember seeing the climate control components behind the lower dash when I last installed the usb cable to glove box. Hoping the issue may lie down in that area?

Thanks!

Probably a sticking flap/motor. Its a long time since I ran XM's but I do remember that you can get to the motors from under the glove box and I think there is a panel that comes off by the pedals.

Re: Climate Control Issue
If it is the flap motors, it will be the first I have ever heard of it going on an X7.
First, make sure you check the setting of the 'soft diffuser' that is on top of the dash. it has 2 settings - one to allow the air to flow gently without 'air currents' (roll the dial forwards to open it) and the other is closed (roll the dial downwards). When closed, more of the air will come out of the side and centre vents.
Make sure you have the centre vents open - each has a dial to open or close them as well as the directional up down left or right part in the middle.
With everything checked and open, then manually change the settings to side only for driver and passneger and turn the fan speed up - you should see and hear the movement of the flaps and start to see the air change direction.
Try this by redirecting the air to the floor or the upper windscreen after a allowing 30 seconds in each position before changing it again - to allow time for the air distribution motors to respond.

Sorry, for some reason I thought it was an XM - must get those power of attorney forms signed.
