My wife has a 63 automatic C4 Picasso which had a new clutch kit fitted in August 2018, and has just had another new clutch kit fitted. Both times by the same garage. Is this reasonable in such a short time?
The first time, the car broke down on the M11 and had to be towed to the garage. More recently, my wife had a feeling that something was slipping, so took the car in for inspection. They said she needed a new clutch, and we had forgotten the previous experience, so she followed their advice. This time it was a clutch kit, slave cylinder, and dual flywheel. £1.3k and £1.7k for the two services respectively.
She does mainly local trips and no towing. There’s no towbar.
When we looked through old invoices and noticed two clutch fittings we contacted the garage. They said it was just one of those things and the C4P clutches are notoriously problematic.
Are we right to be concerned, and if so, what should we do next?
TIA
