What sells? Creating a buzz about a product. In the world of TELSA, they have created some aspirational vehicles, and a demand for them. But its at the affluent end of the market. The middle range of the market is boringly conventional. Is any young person going to get excited and engaged with the wall to wall competent but boring and overpriced SUV's and hatchbacks.

But what about the mini ev.....quite a cult developing in China, with enthused young drivers. Cheap cheerful and customisable..

We could do with another Alec Issigonis here in the UK to kick off a new electric mini range,

Ioniqally I had that video from the supporters club but I only looked at it from a football point of view and didn't think about posting it!! #-o
It certainly does look like a lovely car and if UEFA see sense and move the champions league final to England I might save enough for a deposit!! :-D

Plenty of informative talky reviews of the New 2021 FIAT 500 E but the loud music backtrack and the arty shots are here

Looks familiar, Subaru treading the well-trodden path from 2022 with this SUV EV.

I don't normally take a lot of stock in these kind of warranty surveys (so take it with a grain of salt) but I found this one interesting.

It's report from WarrantyWise - a 3rd party extended warranty provider for cars out of factory warranty with a 10 best and 10 worst list for family hatchbacks and I was somewhat surprised to see... the Nissan Leaf as coming in first place on the list of least warranty claims on extended warranties...(hence posting it in this EV thread)

I probably shouldn't be that surprised because aside from the elephant in the room of battery degradation due to lack of active thermal management, the Leaf is otherwise considered to be a very reliable car, (and this was a factor in me choosing one, albeit being careful to choose one with a known-good battery) but it's interesting to see actual statistics that seem to support that.

https://www.thisismoney.co.uk/money/car ... -cars.html

It was also the only EV on the 10 best or 10 worst list for that matter, so either there aren't enough other EV's enrolled with Warrantywise to get useful stats or they fall somewhere in the middle of the reliability scale and therefore don't make either the best or worst lists.

Not surprisingly (for those of us who love our Citroen's but acknowledge their weaknesses) Citroen didn't fare very well...

It's also interesting that gearbox/clutch issues in general were one of the most frequently reported reasons for claims. Internal combustion engines have got pretty reliable these days to the point where ever more complex gearboxes are starting to become the weak point in many cars!
