C5 2.2HDi Head Gasket Leak?

Hi, I've discovered the header tank is overflowing. With the header tank cap off and the coolant level above max I've waited for the coolant to get hot, thermostat to open and i get bubbling and overflow. If i push the accelerator the water level drops below the header top surface, presumably allowing vapour to escape without pressuring up the water, but on reducing revs level comes back up into the filling point and again overflows with vapour bubbling. I suspect a head gasket leak. Should I also see water vapour from the exhaust? Prior to cylinder pressure testing are there any other observations to make confirming a gasket leak? Are is there some other possible cause? Thanks for your help.

If you have even small bubbles in the water at tickover it is almost certainly a head gasket problem I'm afraid.

Thanks very much Peter for your reply. I've checked even from cold and the header tank is bubbling, so looks like a head gasket leak to fix. I've a haynes manual which unfortunately does not cover the 2.2l model. Can anyone please advise where i can obtain such procedures for this model, particularly such things as torque settings/etc in case they differ from the other models. thanks.
