Retractable dog guard part number
Morning all
I've got a 2009 C5 Tourer and want to know what the part number is for the retractable dog guard/load not that fits behind the rear seats?
Any info would be great.
Cheers

Re: Retractable dog guard part number
There is no retractable dog guard. The Dog Guard accessory is a wire guard that fits in like so:
Part: 941214 currently £153.52 inc. VAT from Citroen.
If not this then please describe what you want in a little more detail. The only other 'pet' cages are actual carriers that clip into the restraint hooks in the rear.

The only retractable item is the luggage cover but this is not intended for pets!
Part number: 8794XK, priced £247.28 from Citroen inc. VAT.

Re: Retractable dog guard part number
That’s a shame, there is a lovely retractable luggage/dog guard for the Mk. 1 C5 which I put in last year.

Re: Retractable dog guard part number
I'm going by what the C5 manual shows in its illustrations, I think I've probably misunderstood the pictures.GiveMeABreak wrote: ↑26 Apr 2021, 11:15 There is no retractable dog guard. The Dog Guard accessory is a wire guard that fits in like so:

I thought there was an extra section to the load cover itself that came out and clipped into, much like the Volvo V50 I used to have.

Re: Retractable dog guard part number
Not much help as you have the later X7 but this is the Mk. 1 C5 one.
It clips on to the rear seats (with some additional brackets in to existing holes) and then the netting part comes up in the gap between the seats and the retractable load cover.
It’s quite a neat little bit of design.

Re: Retractable dog guard part number
Yes, it’s not the same on the X7 at all.
There is a separate dog guard available as an accessory, but the retractable luggage cover should be standard equipment on the Tourer as per my second picture.

I wonder if they stopped the retractable one as it has gaps at the side? I suspect her horrible mutt can get its head through those!

Re: Retractable dog guard part number
IIRC the retractable guard on the Mk1 is more of a separator for the rear luggage area. It's quite flexible and any half decent dog would make mincemeat of it in a few minutes.

I’ll have to ask her if it actually works then! The dog is less than half-decent in my book though!

Re: Retractable dog guard part number
Yeah it seems as though I'll need to purchase the one from the picture. I'm going to try and source one 2nd hand. I assume it's a fixed piece and can't be stowed away?GiveMeABreak wrote: ↑26 Apr 2021, 13:52 Yes, it’s not the same on the X7 at all.

Slotted into the recess and tied with straps at the bottom - see picture in the link below:
One here - I think in Poland:

Aaaaaah I see. Absolutely not what I thought. Wished they'd kept it like the original C5.GiveMeABreak wrote: ↑26 Apr 2021, 15:32 Slotted into the recess and tied with straps at the bottom - see picture in the link below:

As far as I can tell that one in Poland isn't available any more?
Thanks for all your info mate.

Re: Retractable dog guard part number
No problems - I think they are quite easy to put up and remove - probably just a slot into the dedicated roof recesses and then swing the bottom forward flush to the back of the rear seat where the straps probably just go through the tether rings. So should be simple and relatively quick to remove and lay flat.
Just found these for the Tourer - aftermarket, but a lot cheaper:
