Citroen c5
I'm new everybody!!! So happy to find this site!! I own and love my citroen c5!! It's a 04 model and 2 litre automatic!! 47000 genuine miles but the engine is blown!!! Bottom end failure and I have sourced an engine to put my ancilleries onto and get running again!! Are there any pointers for me to make job a little easier??? Also how expensive is the suspension to maintain and are parts going to still be available into the future???

Re: Citroen c5
WElcome to the FCF. When I saw the thread title I thought it was going to be about the new C5. Safe to say with a huge amount of understatement, the majority of the posters on the FCF prefer the old C5Evocolt93 wrote: ↑13 Apr 2021, 03:03 I'm new everybody!!! So happy to find this site!! Re: Citroen c5
Parts for the MK I and facelift MK II are starting to become an issue - especially for some suspension parts, with many of these no longer available new from Citroen, so be aware as these are coming on for 20 years old now... Second hand spares are becoming harder to get - depending on what you want. Engine parts are less of an issue though as many of the diesel engines were used for PSA models into 2010, so spares are still more widely available than some of the more specialist parts.Evocolt93 wrote: ↑13 Apr 2021, 03:03 I'm new everybody!!! Re: Citroen c5
It won't be easy.....
Clutch, DMF, ECU programming wiring, BSI, central console, Engine ECU programming, engine bay wiring loom(s) ...you get the picture, plus all the insurance and change of vehicle details to be done. Not for the feint hearted.

Re: Citroen c5
Yes I thought as much! I do like the auto gearbox but wonder on its reliability. Although reports online seem good what do you think? How would I go about getting lexia for my car? Both my brothers are mechanics and have computers so is it possible to get it on these?
Thanks

Re: Citroen c5
It needs a capable laptop and a full-chip VCI. These are not officially available so you will only be able to get a clone interface. Just Google Lexia 3 kit.
Auto gearboxes are generally fine if they have been well-maintained and looked after with regular gearbox oil changes - contrary to official guidance they are not sealed for life.
