Re: A-Z of Cars
Taking your lead Neil it's time for my "H". Obvious choices here from Honda or Hyundai but I have personal reasons for picking this model which is loosely connected to my second football team. So I can throw in a little Whatsthelink? here: (and claim a couple of points too!!)
I used to be indecisive, now I'm not so sure!
I used to ride on two wheels, but now I need all four!

Re: A-Z of Cars
While I'm here I'll pop up my "I" as well which is a model I craved in the 80's but I was never able to land one. A clue to the model name can be seen in its squarish lines (A single point for the car plus a bonus point for the entertainment value )

It could well link both of your teams Mickmickthemaverick wrote: ↑12 Apr 2021, 17:26 I have personal reasons for picking this model which is loosely connected to my second football team. So I can throw in a little Whatsthelink? here: (and claim a couple of points too!!)

Re: A-Z of Cars
Good point Neil, I was looking for the Watford (my hometown team as a lad) connection as the Chelsea (my first team of choice) one was a little less well known I felt. Very smart of you to recognise both!!NewcastleFalcon wrote: ↑12 Apr 2021, 18:14

Re: A-Z of Cars
Watched a bit of footage on you tube of Alan Hudson, and it autoplayed on to Chelsea V Southampton at Stamford Bridge in 1976. Two things I noticed....the group of Invalid cars like Zels next to the pitch down at one of the corners, and Eddie McCreadie's long "car coat" Osgood was playing for the Saints that day and 1970's football was brutal

ISUSU Impulse, so how does that fit in with the clue One of those MtM groan moments on the way I feel.mickthemaverick wrote: ↑12 Apr 2021, 17:45 While I'm here I'll pop up my "I" as well which is a model I craved in the 80's but I was never able to land one. I've just had a look at that game from the second division days. It certainly was brutal compared to modern times. I did manage to capture this for Zel's amusement:

But I see you've answered it anyway so no groaning necessary, not too far off the mark I thought!!

Reckon I'm on H now.

I think the clip is easier to remove than the one at the bottom end of a Xantia Rear Strut

Now if you did recognise it from the wheel without clicking on "My H" link, that is very impressivemickthemaverick wrote: ↑12 Apr 2021, 21:50 It rings a bell and I reckon if I Hunt around enough maybe for 24 hours or so I might get the answer!!

Re: A-Z of Cars
"Recognise" would not be accurate, deduction is a better description, lets look at the evidence:
1 We are looking for a car that begins with "H"
2 The picture shows a quick release racing wheel as used in single seater racing some years ago
3 The picture carries the Southebys and RM auction logos.
4 Thinks: what F1 cars have come to auction in the last 20 years? - March, Tyrell, Lotus, Minardi, Shadow, Hesketh, Brabham - all I can think of so only one with an H
et voila have a punt and strike lucky!!

Re: A-Z of Cars
Good work, and I was probably pre-primed for a Hesketh by posting up a Hesketh Motorbike on "On Your Bike" the other day. I just looked down the car search for auction results on Glenmarch and picked out from the H's on offer first Hanomag which I have posted before, but then up popped Hesketh and the rest is history!
