Citroen c5 x7 2.2 150kW jerking / judder

Unread post by gian7 »

Hi, Everyone,
Citroen c5 x7 2011 09 2.2 150kW
Is jerking on 2nd and 3rd gear 1500-2000rpm. I visited 5 gearbox specialists who say gearbox is all ok. *Note: first minute after night (cold engine) there are no jerking / judder at all. I read a lot in the forums the same issue many audi/citroen/vw owners but no solution was given. Any ideas? :)

You haven't mentioned if this is a manual or fully automatic AM6 gearbox which is basic information you need to supply - or put your VIN up here if you are not sure. I don't think it will be a piloted manual on this engine.

It may well benefit from an oil change - although these are stated as 'sealed for life' they are not and the oil does degrade.

You can't change all the oil in one go - it will take about 3 changes to get as near a complete oil change as 4 litres remains in the torque converter.

It's all in my post here on how to do the change - but you will need the oil counter resetting after each change.

How many cycles of oil change did the gearbox get? As the box can't drain completely down you have to drain and replace several times to basically dilute the old oil with fresh.

If you follow the link in Marc's post you will see how many times you should change the oil. Also, don't forget that the oil counter needs resetting each time. You will need a high-end code reader or, preferably, the dedicated Peugeot/Citroen code reader known as a Lexia or Diagbox.

Did you reset the counter the one time you changed the oil?

Did you reset the counter the one time you changed the oil? - I don't know, maybe no.. Because the oil was changed by a specialist, not me.. Will check about resetting

Depending on how long the specialist had the car and how specialised he is, it may be that he has carried out a full oil change. I believe that it is possible to force a nearly full oil change using specialist equipment. And he may have reset the oil counter.

You need to look at your receipt and/or ask the specialist.

Yeah... About 20-30mins and job is done, you're super right, the specialist has carried out a full oil change. And they've not using lexia, just f*cking free android version app :)

So that looks suspicious - I mean for a start the engine oil has to be 60 °C before you start the operation and the diagnostic tool will report the oil temp. 30 minutes is a bit of a joke I think to do the whole job properly.....
