My full citation is here for my personal dumping of this into room 101.

Hampshire.
HAMPSHIRE! not even close. Cumbria of course.

Well there was more evidence of it tonight. A very knowledgeable "Captain" of Imperial, rattling off answers right left and centre even before Paxman had barely started with the questions, and the rest of the team had a debate on which County Maryport was in. After much deliberation....their answer...NewcastleFalcon wrote: 21 Dec 2020, 21:31 Big University Challenge fan but I'm putting an aspect of it into room 101
So into my personal room 101 goes "the general level of ignorance of the geography and history of Great Britain"

Re: Room 101 open for deposits.....
..and tonight the biscuit was taken.....Durham University in an extremely lacklustre performance hit the depths with the "waterfalls of England" 3 bonus questions. We only need to consider their collective answer to number 1.NewcastleFalcon wrote: 21 Dec 2020, 21:31 Big University Challenge fan but I'm putting an aspect of it into room 101

Remember its Durham University, with the cream selected , 4 very intelligent people who had spent at least 12 years or more between them in Durham.
They confer, none of them have a clue, then in a Eureka moment the captain says....yes High Force that's somewhere up near us.....and they agreed their answerThe question which River are the Waterfalls High Force and Cauldron Snout on![]()
The River Wear...................................................................
THE RIVER WEAR, THE RIVER WEAR.
Yet more evidence of my need to dump "the general level of ignorance of the geography and history of Great Britain" in Room 101
Yes not everyone will know the answer, but for a team from Durham not to know it is the TEES just takes the biscuit. Yes and Roger Whittaker was a bit cavalier with his "I got to leave old Durham Town" look up the lyrics he seems to think "Old Durham Town " is on the River Tyne...

I despair at the same issue, on The Chase last night a contestant was asked "Which county does Wensleydale cheese come from?" Her answer? "Manchester!"

I used to be indecisive, now I'm not so sure!

The Mamba Green's territory is probably within 5 miles of you Steve so beware if you ever head down the Old Durham Road.

I'll make a point to avoid that area then Neil.
I was down there daily last year but that is over now.

What a contented bunch the FCF faithful are, not a single Room 101 deposit since February.

Room 101 must be locked down, like the rest of us Neil!

I must admit with the general woefulness of life under lockdown the little things that used to irritate tend to wash away unnoticed at the moment. I'd put boredom into my 101 but then I wouldn't have anything left at all!!.

I used to be indecisive, now I'm not so sure!

Re: Room 101 open for deposits.....
Actually, I've just found the key... and in there I am putting all current Retail Customer Service outlet telephone agents - or more to the point the lack of them..... with all these staff off the shop floors as many non-essential outlets have been closed, there are still a serious lack of telephone support services / agents to deal with ordering, delivery, support, accounts and warranty issues.
With them all on furlough or being paid - this should not be an issue. But 2 hour waits on the phone is not really good enough.
and whilst there, add the 'Captain' of that container vessel that blocked up the Suez canal for ages - I think that's where our new oven is currently - 2 months from order and still can't book the delivery date yet......

Re: Room 101 open for deposits.....
Rather than putting them in 101 Marc, why don't you wait until you do get the new oven and then you can give them a proper roasting?
