On your Head Unit, you should have a button labelled DARK. Pressing this at nigh time with the headlights on will dim the instrument display. There may be several modes that change on each press until you get back to normal display.

When active, it should leave the speedo on only. When you press any radio control or heating buttons the display will return to normal temporarily, then go back off, whilst the Dark mode is active.

And for those reading with an earlier C5 looking for their Dark button, press the “button” near the speedometer that you would think resets the odometer but doesn’t!

Well done Citroen, very sneaky!

Multiple short presses dims the display and IIRC there is another button that kills all the display lights except the speedo with a single press. Vague recollection of something used to see what it did then rarely used again, only on long journeys at night, few and far between.

It’s very nice but you are right, only seldomly for only for a long late night cruise to relax the eyes.

I only used it because it was there, rather than any need for it.
My son asked about it on the replacement, just a small knob on the dash. It is very bright at maximum and irritating at night so does her used as he mainly drives at night.

It does occasionally turn the display off for fun though.
