Before she left for her Dimentia club (she's a volunteer, not a customer! ) this morning SWMBO told me to look out the back door as there was a nice surprise for me!! I did:



but on first sight I didn't notice what she meant. On closer inspection I realised we have our first tulip of the year!!

Prompted me to look out of the window Mick and I see Mine are almost there too.

From pretty to austere, but a lovely view round the back I noted from my Dad's diary that back in 1942 one of the entries was a trip across to East Castle to visit friends/relations. I imagine them waiting for the bus back home at this very shelter, which I imagine has never been "modernised" or received a lick of paint since those days. Wonderful patina telling its humble story to this day. Still a current bus stop today.

Sometimes DDG makes me laugh. Having seen Jim and Neil's bus shelters I wondered if I could find a picture of our old school bus shelter which was decorated with sea shells so I typed in Bus Shelters and this is what I got:

I know some of us have a soft spot for the P6...

I've been watching a few George Gently episodes. His main vehicle is a blue P6 and his sidekick drives a blue Ford Corsair. Well written and acted, plenty of 60's cars, and against a backdrop of many locations in my own back yard.
Love the moorland shots in the episode I watched today.
