207 cruise activation fail

Post by citroenxm »

OK I know there is a lot of cruise control posts.

let me set you up..
2007 207 1.4 16v kfu engine. So it's pre vti and has cam belt. the last year this engine was offered before the vti replaced it..
its an 89bhp se premium spec. that is auto lights.. auto wipers.. auto dimming rear view mirror. velour seats with front arm rests. Full light check monitor system. dual zone electronic Air con... one touch both front windows.. so a very high spec. it's only missing cruise control..here begins the problem.
i have activated it in the bsi.
it says the clutch switch is present
when I go into the engine ecu to change to cruise present it tells me programming not done.
I'm useing diagbox as my Pp2000 won't talk to the engine ecu.
in diagbox in presentation I think it Is.. there's customer options or something and in there it has activate cruise or deactivate.. I go in
. it asks for the rpo number.. After that it tells me cruise install is not authorised on this car..

any ideas on this one. prehaps the ecu hasn't got cruise capability. it has a motorised throttle body on it.. Im at a bit of a loss really..

Which type of cruise control stalk are you fitting? Peugeots seem to all have the CC stalk with cruise control and speed limiter (same as my current C5, but not the same as the previous C5), and there also seems to be a need for the speed limiter to be available (I seem to recall something may be needed on the accelerator pedal). I DO know that, when Michel tried to add cruise control to a Peugeot (and the stalk was the correct one) we could not get it to work either, and we believe it to be due to the speed limiter system. The car could 'see' the CC stalk (and correctly report the buttons/switches being pressed).

hmmm. it's a, cruise and limiter stalk which puts the cruise info up above the milage In the milage lcd. I've also got a cruise only stalk from a 2004 c5 but that doesn't bring up the cruise info in the milage display. the car hasn't got limiter as there's, no click at the bottom of the pedal travel. you have me thinking now. the wife's 207 is a, 2009 car I added cruise without limiter. I wonder what happens if I use her cruise only stalk. I'd not expect it to fail programming or tell me cruise is not authorised if the incorrect stalk is fitted.. but then again there's others on here who know more about these things then I do..
