Interchangeable C5 x7 parts

Post by Majanor »

Hi all,
Been offered a 2009 C5 to use as a donor car.
Specifically want to use Aircon pump and probably suspect leaking pipe. I'm led to believe recharge gas weight is important, so weight for 2008 VIN VF7**************[VIN obfuscated, can be read by forum staff] would be good to know
2nd part being compenplated is RHS Drive shaft and Hub assembly.
Givemeabreak informed me 2008 shaft part number is 3273SH, so question is 2009 VIN No. VF7**************[VIN obfuscated, can be read by forum staff] compatible?
Many thanks, Norman.

I forgot to mention that the refrigerant capacity for your specific C5 X7 with engine code RHR is 525 grammes of R134A as although this is a Euro 4 engine (DW10BTED4), it takes the same amount as the Euro 5 C5 X7.

As far as the oil goes, you would only replace the same amount that the component being replaced would normally hold, as per this table. This assumes new components where there would be no oil when new, so bear this in mind....
Component replacedAdd the exact quantity of oil Cc
Cooling condensor20
Air conditioning evaporator20
Low pressure pipe5
High pressure pipe5
Filtring and drying cartridge15
But if you are unsure as to exactly what quantities are in the system - especially if it has been leaking for some time, it would be better to switch the system OFF from AUTO / disable A/C and get it to somewhere like Kwik Fit or ATS that can hoover out the system and refill it with the proper quantities Norman, as I'm sure you know.

Cheers Marc, AC hasn't functioned in my time. As it is probably my last (tow) car I thought I'd sort it out proper and take a few more years out of it. You never know when one of those hot summers we keep getting promised might materialise.
So will require a Hoover out and the proper quantity added .
Many thanks, Norman
