I have a P0100 and a P0110 error on the Xantia 2.0 HDi and suspect that the genuine 2nd hand AMM/MAF is not up to specification.
At idle, it gives 505mg/cp. This is correct.
At 3052rpm, it reads 700mg/cp. Probably correct.
The P0100 code shows that the air flow is
0 mg/stroke and the reference value is 235mg/stroke at 835rpm..
Getting to the crux of the matter, those of us that have had a problem with reduced torque what brand of MAF have you gone with?
I’ve read a thread that says stay away from cheap ones.
Define cheap?
Do I just bite the bullet and go for VDO/Siemens?
There are so many sellers on Ebay with many many different brands.
I don’t fancy spending £85+

It appears that the cheap ones don't last Roger. I replaced two (different C5s) and bought the VDO ones from the dealer.

Roger, I believe I may have a BNIB genuine HDi MAF sensor in my stash... Yours if I indeed do... PM me your best offer and we'll take it from thereRhothgar wrote: 22 Mar 2021, 21:06 I have a P0100 and a P0110 error on the Xantia 2.0 HDi and suspect that the genuine 2nd hand AMM/MAF is not up to specification.

Ooooh. I’ve got a client coming up from
Paggers next Wednesday too.
I need to verify there is no air leak for sure before I go spending.

Have you tried cleaning your MAF Roger?
I did mine with a couple of blasts of carburettor cleaner. Lasted until I scrapped the car - about four years.

Yes Steve. It’s a 2nd hand unit off Ebay. Had two now.myglaren wrote: 23 Mar 2021, 19:35 Have you tried cleaning your MAF Roger?

Could still be an air leak somewhere but highly unlikely. Need to carefully check intercooler.
Going to use a smoke generator at some point this week to see if I can see anything under load.

Re: Air Mass Meter - What have you fitted?
Went to a mate's garage who has a smoke kit for checking for leaks in the induction pipework. All good - no leaks. He noticed the MAF connector was a bit loose. The little blue rubber seal broke off some time last year when I was doing all the diagnostics. I'd love to be able to get a part loom or that little rubber seal. I've just cable tied the connector snugly into place.
I noticed on Lexia at the garage that the air temperature was at 16 degs then 50 then -25 then 10. Loose connection on MAF must have caused that.
The car ran like an absolute dream on the way home. Brisk acceleration with no hesistancy. So pleased that it is running so nice again.
So all is good in the Xantia HDi World.
Just need to finish sorting a few last bits out.
