This is one of those threads that a gentle read from the start could be as entertaining as the television. Of course the 5 second scan of the latest post may bring a hint of recognition and even stimulate a comment, a response, and occasionally spark off a proper join-ey-in conversation.

The car it was attached to was an absolute beauty.

And..from the accessories point of view a nice display of the makers name

This could go in the 'Whatisthisthen?' thread, and it could also go in one of the other threads, but as it's a bit of a nostalgic motoring icon - I'll put it here.
So, for 5 points - what's in the envelope ? :)

Very sharp of you, James. 5 points duly awarded :-D
Although I've seen many AA and RAC keys in my time, I've never seen one still sealed in its envelope*. :)

It was an educated guess. I recall, a very long time back, when Mum got her AA membership, her going to the car with a sealed envelope.

NewcastleFalcon wrote: 21 Jan 2018, 10:40 When did wing mirrors disappear from wings?

What was the last crop of cars which literally had wing mirrors, or conversely which cars started the trend for "door mirrors"?

What was the last car...if you have ever had one with wing mirrors?

Yes the important questions of life!

The new "wing-mirror". Looks a bit sticky out and vulnerable to me but no doubt they retract or fold in. Although plainly this car was parked up and they didn't.

I have seen a LOT of new lorries with similar wing 'mirrors', with large displays inside the doors in a portrait configuration.

My first car with wing mirrors was my Morris 1000 VYV 333, First one with door mirrors was probably my 83 Orion Ghia iirc!! :-D
