What sort of fuel economy do you get Jim?

Around 80 calories per mile Peter

Running 10 miles allegedly causes me to burn 800 calories according to Strava...

800 calories is good for around 30 cycling miles

Because I'm so light, not so far over 9 stone, I need a lot less food that someone considerably heavier...

I have to watch my food consumption very carefully as if I eat too much and don't do sufficient exercise my weight shoots up like a rocket!

I would probably use that much just worrying about doing it Jim. Well done with the weight loss though. I have to watch mine, I was over 16 stone for many years but since being diagnosed with diabetes I have got down to just 13 stone and my sugar is mostly normal now. Mind you I used to be 6 feet tall but I've shrunk a bit now - probably where some of the weight went.

You do shrink with age Peter! I had that demonstrated to me very clearly by the trauma surgeon when I broke my neck... He described it as 'fair wear and tear'

All determined by MRI and CT scans... The MRI scan on my brain showed that had shrunk too... Again, I was told it was an age thing and more fair wear and tear I guess!

Ran a truly gorgeous half marathon this morning

Ran from home to Linford Wood, ran one lap of the parkrun course and then ran home again

Given the strength of the wind it was a good time too... The wind was surprisingly cold too!

A busy day today

First up, take the MX-5 out for her weekly exercise...

This is a nice place to be

I then checked the boot leak... Definitely the bootlid seal leaking... Water had collected in the dish...

I need to source a replacement...

Then it was onto some bike work... My Giant TCR has been on my Turbo Trainer all winter and today I gave it a good service ready for the upcoming sportive season...

First job was to refresh the sealant in the tubeless tyres...

It's recommended it's changed every six months or so although what came out still looked good despite being older than that...

Then it was off with the chain and a good degrease and re-lube...

The last job was to replace the battery in the cadence sensor... This bike eats them whereas the battery in my Propel cadence sensor seems to last ages... A mystery!

I like a bit of Topiary as my quest to find this topiary pig testifies, but you could maybe have framed the topiary "ball" in the background in the frame of your bike

Not much Church to go on there

A year ago today... Unhappy memories but looking back I was bloody lucky to get away with it as lightly as I did...

I still have residual nerve damage in my left hand and some limited neck mobility... I can no longer swivel my head around like an owl

An absolutely tremendous inspirational come back Jim, and the key thing which I perceive through your posts on the forum is your positive attitude and determination and never giving up and yes pure enjoyment of the things you do. That includes as well as your cycling/running/radio etc etc, unexplainably faffing about with cars

That's just taking it too far, fixing cars really is a pain in the neck, cars are there to have enjoyable drives out.....go electric
