Partner Teepee Radio Fault
Hi Guys
My Partner Teepee 1.6 HDI - circa 2015 reg with 71k on the clock has started to play up, with the radio playing OK then
switching off on its own accord. IT then restarts after about 2 minutes (Pug logo showing) and carries on playing then repeats the switch off
again 5 mns later. It could be on FM or DAB or trip screen - no difference. When on it seems to be allowing selections of
channel as normal, volume OK etc.
Any ideas please

Overheating? HAs the cabin temp been very warm / hot when this has happened?

Not really - the auto temp control seems to be ok - usually at 20c - not noticed it being warm in the cabin

Ok, so it's going to be difficult to diagnose without a diagnostic. Pop your VIN up for me (auto masked on submission) and I'll see what system you have.

the std radio / cd is cira £50 from ebay with your VIN programmed in it ?
I'd be tempted to buy a spare unit & try it before digging too deep ?

Not on this one - it's not an RD4 for this year, which is why I asked for the VIN
The OP has a SMEG Digital receiver, so these units new are £1255.62 inc. VAT. The Screen is part of the head unit, so they are a complete unit. You'll have to consider whether you want to go down the road of repair or getting a replacement. There's not that many out there as they were discontinued about then for the later touchscreen units. Peugeot will have a standard repair charge - for these, and I suspect it will be about the £450 mark, but you'll have to check with them.

The problem started last Friday when I was stuck in heavy traffic - stop start - road works etc for over an hour - could be the engine bay was hot..
Not my customary journey being a retired individual of slender means ! - I usually avoid town driving..
Saturday I switched the channels and played around with the radio and trip meter - all worked OK - so Sunday I took the car for
a 20 mile motorway trip with one stop for juice and it made one reboot fault.
I then pulled the fuse for the audio system - fuse looked good but I made certain it was seating well.
Yesterday I made a 100 mile round motorway trip with one stop and guess what - no faults !!
So maybe the problem has gone away !
Fingers crossed as the replacement option looks pricey !
I have a Diagbox kit on order Marc - should be here by the end of the week - will it diagnose this type of fault ?

It should bring up any fault codes present, - run a Global Diagnostic first, allow that to fully complete and then see what faults are present. This will show what is currently or has been recorded, so once you have written them down, slect, read and then clear each fault, then go for a brief drive and then re-run the test to see what, if anything is reoccurring.

Sorry for the delay in getting back to you..
I've rigged up the Diagbox system but I find it too uncomfortable getting to grips with the operation (on the learning curve) whilst
the car is outdoors - so hopefully I'll get it into the garage this weekend where I can be more comfortable !
However I did notice that a couple of weeks ago I wasn't getting reboot problems - then it started when tuned to DAB.
Then during the last cold spell I ran the car and lo and behold the radio was doing continual reboots irrespective of station etc.
So my feeling is that the radio or other components are temperature sensitive or maybe the battery was at low voltage and not happy with the freezing temps.
It's probably the original battery (65reg) - showing 12.4 on my meter - but cranks the engine fine hot or cold and it fires up instantly.
I'll get back to you after my Diagbox session

The error codes are :-
F40A - Oil gauge fault
F5FF - Unexpected re-initialisation fault coming from the BSI
P220A - NOx sensor electrical supply voltage of the component too low local

There's not a lot coming up on these I'm afraid - but the F40A fault is to do with the oil level measurement. It is triggered when the engine coolant temperature is over 40 °C which is the threshold for the measurement to take place - so the oil is not measured. It just means the oil has not been measured as the coolant was too high. It will clear the next time a measurement is taken. So just rely on the dipstick to check the oil level in this case.
P220A relates to the NOx sensor for the the Adblue injector system. It is saying the voltage is too low. There is usually another 2 digits on the end of this code to provide more specifics, so I can only generalise here. Whilst this fault is showing your Adblue injection regulation is inhibited and the protection function of the deNOx Catalytic Converter. You may get the UREA warning lamp on and an engine diagnosis lamp, so that needs checking out or it could lead to damage of the system. This could be a supplies / connector / DeNOx relay / electrical harness / Fuse issue.
F5FF is a non-characterised fault from the BSI - so no further info on this.
So not much help I'm afraid - but I'd certainly get it looked at if you still have that P220A fault as that can lead to bigger issues. If you are gong to bite the bullet and get the dealer to look at the issue, they should be able to provide more info on a solution.

I signed up with Haynes for their online manual - I've had their paper manuals for years on cars and mobikes - but the online manual was a disappointment.
No info on NOx sensors and Adblue systems just basic servicing stuff (hard to download a print of electrical circuits and do a search for items) and now non-stop email ads from them - not impressed.
