1.4 206 hdi £30pa road tax

Post by Huskyxantia »

I'm doing this thread for all owners experience of the 206 1.4 hdi models only.

Im Considering a 206 yes my health is a worry but I'm thinking of down sizing in all aspects of motoring .

I've had a sw which was rubbish but to be honest the former owner was a run it into the ground sort of person.

I've been told the car is better than the sw which a car type would be ok, and to be honest I'm looking at driving about 300 there abouts miles a month maybe less.

Any info would be very greatfully welcomed.

Yes i have a Picasso but covid has changed my reasons for having a big car (boot fairs and so on) haven't used it for them ... So me thinks a smaller car later this year is what's calling me.
Thanks in advance .

I liked the 206 1.4HDi I had for a short while, it did everything it was supposed to do really rather well; but it was only ever gonna be a stop-gap while my long term car was off the road for a few weeks for repair...

...something that seems to be the case an awful lot recently, but hey, no-one's forcing me to hang onto it and as ever, it costs me time, not money.

Changing your car when you're doing precious little mileage seems a bit pointless to me though; just seems like a bundle of hassle to potentially save not very much in terms of Fuel, Tax, etc

NB: how on earth would a SW be different from a Hatch, except in body style....???

Was told by a previous owner he found the car more square and didn't corner wear the front tryes compared to a sw he had a few years before and he had the rear beam sorted,

I think the story's from many owners will all differ but I firmly believe my sw I had several years back was a lemon due to the previous owners negligence.

I'm thinking long term really for road tax as I'm hitting towards the £150 pa mark soon.

I'll look for a real good one with service history that's real.
