From your picture Neil, because I was too lazy to find my own :-D , my suggestion would be where the arrow says heading ENE:

I'll have to have a drive up there again! Found the car was featured in Car and Classic April 2014, from which some of the sales particulars images came. The journalist had a bit of a drive around Dartmoor with the photography supplied by Simon Clay.

I think your map is a little further "down" the road away from Princetown.

Walkhampton Common gets a mention but the point on the photograph is just out of Princetown roughly where it says Devils Bridge on the B3212 heading South West direction Yelverton.

I assume you've had a virtual drive down on gmaps to find that so that'll do for me. I was going by map contours that fitted with the land slopes in the picture in the apex of a left hand curve!! :)

The posts by the roadside which are picked up in the Aston Martin photos, are remarkably sparse on Dartmoor roads.
Thanks for digging your maps out and having a go Mick. The bing maps although they do a decent enough OS map option the streetview is useless with a capital U compared to google.

I've enjoyed my drive round Dartmoor, even saw some ponies!

I was intrigued by the prominent memorial stone on the wall...

Lindi is a place in Tanzania...

There's a story here I'm sure but so far I've not had a lot of success in finding anything... But then my skills at searching out such things is not good...

One for the Trivia Investigation Team perhaps ;)

And here is some more, it would appear that apart from his memorial in the photo he is also included in a memorial at North Mymms:

His employer mentioned on the plaque was Frederick Konig of Tyringham Hall

Little link with the church and the war memorial from the wiki page on Frederick https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Frederick_Konig
Through his interest in theosophy, Konig came to know the architect Edwin Lutyens, whose wife, Lady Emily Bulwer-Lytton, was also interested in the subject. As a result, Lutyens was commissioned in 1920 to design a classical-style temple of music and a bathing pavilion in the gardens of the house.[12][13] He also designed a war memorial to the dead of the First World War at the Church of St Peter, Tyringham. The memorial was unveiled by Princess Marie Louise on 23 June 1921.[14]
Inside the church you find Lutyens design memorial, with Frederick Gubbins Name on

This is an interesting piece on the War Memorial inside the Church, it gives some information on the two other soldiers whose names appear on the original marble memorial.
http://www.lutyenstrustexhibitions1.org ... 4586711102

Frederick König’s wife Gerda was one of the Ladies-in-Waiting to Princess Marie Louise (one of the many grand-daughters of Queen Victoria), who performed the unveiling ceremony on 23 June 1921.

This unimposing section of the Churchyard at Tyringham was one of Lutyens last designs. A simple boxwood surround to the resting place of Frederick Konig.
