A few running milestones today

8th Half Marathon so far in 2021;
450 miles toward John O'Groats in my virtual LEJOG challenge;
2100 miles run on my present running shoes and...
Day 160 of my current run streak

And I found my perfect home during the run

A bungalow with a triple garage attached, complete with a roller side door straight out onto the road

As for the running, it makes me tired just reading the numbers!!

No, sadly not but I do have two brand-new pairs in stock It has been suggested that with the usual life of a pair being no more than 500 miles then I should get a free pair from the makers for taking them beyond 2100 miles to demonstrate how good they are...

I wish... They're hardly likely to as they are in the market to sell running shoes at £120 a pair as often as possible and they will have no wish to advertise the fact they are almost indestructible and will last a long time... Nobody got rich from selling an everlasting product!

Even though it seems a lot to pay for what looks like a standard pair of trainers, over 2000 miles of injury-free running makes them look like very good value indeed

Speaking of tyre prices, the Conti GP5000s I use on my bikes cost comfortably more than the tyres I recently had fitted to Daffodil!

Whoever said running and cycling were cheap activities was called Pinocchio

Currently suffering quite severe cognitive dysfunction/mental exhaustion and for the time being, mainly read-only. I can't keep up with all the treads on the forum and have given up trying until matters improve...

Looking for something brainless to do today I made an improvement to the end of my driveway between the concrete runners... Previously it was a scruffy patch of mud and grass used by the local feline population as a toilet, especially where it extended under the car, much to my annoyance

Now excavated and filled with coarse ballast...

Dismayed to read your first sentence there Jim, but I know what you mean about trying to keep up with all the threads. However it is important for you to balance yourself in view of history so a read-only spell may well be a good idea. You can always make your presence known by the odd like button here and there and I'm sure I speak for everyone when I say we'd much rather have a little bit of you than none at all. So just do what you enjoy. As for the drive it looks good but might I suggest a small bag of postcrete sprinkled over the ballast and left to the atmosphere will help keep the ballast where you put it and deter the felines!! You can always use the rest of the bag to fill in that crevice at the join between the right runner and the kerbstone!

Thanks Mick and Peter, appreciated It's normal for me to go through such periods and I don't really worry now... I just rest the mind for however long it takes for things to stabilise again...
