Morning all,
I was having trouble with black smoke and accompanying knock on my 1.9td engine (2002).
I managed to to turn the injector pump a millimetre or two (after a struggle with the bottom of the three fixing bolts!)
This has cured the black smoke problem .....but it still has a slight knock to it...the engine only has about 24,000 miles on it.
I was now hoping to set the pump timing up exactly as it should be for maximum fuel efficiency and to see if the knock could be eliminated.
I have a dial gauge but I don't have an adapter to do the job.
Does anyone know where I might get hold of this item? Is there a part number?
I've seen some Bosch VE pump adapter kits on ebay but they're for audi and vw....would these do the job or does the adapter have to be specific to Peugeot?
I don't want to pay for the whole dial and adapter kit if i can use what I have.
As always any advice welcome.
Thanks
Moo
Dial gauge.

Re: Dial gauge.
There's a Bosch VE pump document you might find helpful.
Downloadable pdf here: https://documents.pub/document/bosch-ve-pumps.html
Haynes also covers pump timing - eg in the Citroen Diesel Engine book
