The poor lowly TXD has manual one’s so as I have a dead TZD, a swap was needed. It’s very easy to do if a little time consuming. All the wires, switches, motors, regulators and relay are removed from the TZ and refitted in the TX. Everything just plugs it, even the doors have the correct holes for the motors and regulators. Hardest bit is threading the wires through the trunking into the doors but a spot of silicone spray and a cable tie did the trick. I also wired in the panel on the dash that lets you know when the doors are open, only the rears done so far, the fronts are for another day.
More BX (benign)madness

Tom, Stewart...
Have had the switches out - drowned them in WD40, cleaned them with fine emery paper wrapped round a cotton bud ( I used to own a NES) and still they refuse to play ball.
The drivers side one touch also plays silly buggers, but appears to be better behaved now I have silicone sprayed the runner channel for the glass. Still doesnt switch itself off at the end of its travel though untill I hit the switch again. Gettig used to the sound of "bduba bduba bduba bduba bduba".[:p]

sounds like you need a new magic black box for the front!
And dont mess to much with the windows until i've visited and had a play and got them all working! Electrics are dead easy if your me [:D]
My biggest success is a complete accesorie loom for a Landy, and end of june im building a complete loom (start to finish) for a kit car, its gonna be fun!
Marty i think the best thing will be for you to come visit me in June, saves all the dragging of tools etc cna fix ALL the electrical gremlins at the same time, so keep a note fo them!

Dave - dont chuck the manual ones out. I still cant get my eleccy windows to work, so may retrofit manual flopy winders to Vera's rear.

This is a fairly benign madness. True BX insanity involves cutting up mirror switches, to make them work both mirrors or fixing one touch windows to both sides.

I would have though retro-fitting aircon is the height of BX insanity Tom[B)]

Not at this time of year. (Where's the emoticon for Smug?)
No Dave, buying a BX without aircon and keeping it that way is.
Ask Bernie who is no crazier than I am - Oh BuXXer!
BTW Marty. WD40 is one of the best insulators on the market. You can use it for switches. It assures a reliable off state under most conditions.[:)]

There's nowt wrong with retro fitting gadgets to cars. My 205 has a 405 light delay unit that is activated by the central locking so the interior light comes on when the car is unlocked. As the car started life as a 1.6 Gti and not the 1.9 is have also fitted electric windows, and am now being pestered a do another one.
Paul.
