Hi guys, can anyone help with some info?

The Particulate filter additive level low - engine repair needed warning came up on my Citroen C4 Grand Picasso 1.6HDI 2012 (110,000 miles) just after filling up diesel.

I think I need to top up the PDF additive for it but I can't find reliable information about what type of additive and how much does it go in.

I have LEXIA 3 with DIAGBOX 9.68, but not a confident user. I only used it once to unlock the CD changer port for Bluetooth on the RD3 radio. Is it complicated to reset the ECU and tell it it is refilled?

Your VIN is incorrect. Please recheck it, specifically the last 8 alphanumeric sequence.

Ok that's correct - you put a '3' instead of a 'J' after the 'C'.

Ok, so your build date code (RPO) is 13119, so you should be on Powerflex additive. Make sure that the click fit connectors on the additive tank are coloured Blue though to confirm.

Important - there is a newer additive called 'Extend', but this cannot be mixed with Powerflex. So if your tank has has Powerflex in originally and still has some quantity of this fluid in the additive tank, it can't be mixed with Extend unless it is fully empty.

If you have confirmed your click fit connectors are blue, then I would stick to powerflex fluid that is still widely available. You will need to go into the injection ECU and reset the additive counter to 0 and may also have to prime the additive circuit (depending on whether the tank is empty or not).

These are available in 1 litre or 3 litre containers (you do not have a pouch system in your car), so you can add a litre at a time or buy the 3 litre container and use that - but the fluid does not keep once exposed to the atmosphere, so you must safely dispose of what you do not use.

The earliest I can do it is on Friday and has to use the car to travel to work till the, around 300miles. Do you think it is ok to drive it that many miles?

Ok, so the engine ECU looks at the estimated quantity of additive remaining in the tank (it is not physically measured with a gauge) and then looks at the miles remaining on the maintenance counter until your next due service. If it calculates that there won't be enough additive in the tank until the next service is due, then it will put up the warning on the dash.

So when you switch on the ignition, how many miles do you have showing until the next service is due? If it's a few thousand miles then you'll probably be ok, but don't push it as I said - the remaining fluid is only estimated and can vary depending on driving conditions. Running the fluid right down to empty may lead to additive pump issues when it is eventually filled up again.

The next service due counter shows 5850 miles .. and the warning light came on last Thursday and only did 40 miles till then...but will do around 240 miles till Friday. Is it going to be ok?

Hi, I have a 2012 Citroen C5 2.2 HDi 200, build NO. 12925.
This morning I got the additive low message.
I'm thinking to refill my self the tank and reset the counter, but I'm confused now which additive should I buy or my car actually uses a pouch system?
Can somebody help me please?

You don't have a pouch system, it's a hard reservoir. From your build date you will need Powerflex or the later Eolys Extend.

An X7 C5 with a build code of 12925 uses Eolys Extend.

Just the RP number & car model is needed, this can be found on the label that has the tyre pressure information on it, the colour of the pipe ends on the car is not an accurate way to confirm the type of additive anyway, it should always be confirmed by RP number.
